- THE RESTAURANT -
When you see a restaurant filled with locals and you are the only tourist in it, it explains all for one who wishes to find an authentic local eat. Situated on the busy Hart Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui, Lung Kee Wanton, like many other local eateries, occupied a hole in the wall, easily blocked by cars packing on the street. Shared table, elbows touching others' elbows, Lung Kee Wanton Noodles may not offer the most comfortable environment that allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy your wonton, however, if you want a real local wanton experience, this is the place to go. Not to mention, there are quite a number of small street food places around the area, which is perfect for a street food marathon!
- THE LUNCH -
What's better than having a comforting bowl of springy, ping pong ball sized wontons bathed in a light, warm flounder broth during winter time. All wontons in Lung Kee's are freshly made in-house with crunchy shrimps and grounded pork, wrapped in thin canton style wonton sheets. For the spicy lover out there, make sure to try out their homemade Chiu Chow chili oil. Comparing to the one Michelin starred Mak's Noodle, Lung Kee's Wonton is bigger size as each wonton has one whole shrimp in it. The soup is also relatively less savory. If you read the menu, you may discover that there is no "Signature Wonton" on it. Just simply ask the waitress for plain wonton, and they will bring it to you.
