- THE RESTAURANT -

Found this small sushi takeout near my place when I first moved to London. Sitting quietly on Cricklewood Lane, it provides the perfect sushi craving cure. All chefs in Eat Tokyo have stayed and trained and Japan and this takeaway branch allow you to order Japanese food to eat in the comfort of your own home.

- THE DINNER -

After spending 3 weeks in London, the sushi craving was real. I had been eating avocado with soy sauce for days and I really needed some proper sushi. I started off my dinner with spicy salmon roll (£2.50 / 6 pieces) and avocado salmon roll (£2.50 / 6 pieces). It was fair. You can never go wrong wrapping salmon and sriracha mayonnaise with a soft blanket of nori seaweed and rice, or buttery avocados with salmon. The tuna and salmon nigiri (£2.10 / 3 pieces) were slightly too fishy for me. The sushi rice, in general, was a bit too sticky. The signature roll that I ordered every single time when I pass by was the salmon skin roll (£3.50 / 5 pieces). Salmon skin paired with a fresh salad, the rolls were covered with a sweet, tangy sauce and tobiko (flying fish roes), adding an extra crunch to it.

- WHAT ELSE -

This takeout joint also sells fresh salmon fish head at a very reasonable price. Perfect for a stew or salmon miso soup in chilly London weather.
